Frequently Asked Questions
Technical Toolboxes software was developed by pipeline engineers for pipeline engineers and spans many portions of the pipeline lifecycle for both gas and liquid service, including design, construction, operations, and integrity. Examples include:
- Hydraulics
- Pipeline Design and Analysis
- Pipeline Encroachments
- Pipeline Testing
- Horizontal Directional Drilling
- Pipeline Corrosion
- Facilities
- Remaining Life & Reassessment Intervals
- API 510, 570, 653 Inspections
- AC Mitigation
- Hot Tapping and Welding Inspection
With the latest version, you can leverage infrastructure data contained in existing databases. You can reduce manual data entry, typos, and time spent data mining by having Pipeline Toolbox pre-populate inputs for you. The HUBPL connects our library of engineering standards and tools to your data across the pipeline lifecycle. Our platform recognizes PODS and UPDM data models to make integration simple while maintaining the flexibility to import custom data models.
The latest release from Technical Toolboxes, the HUBPL, connects our library of engineering standards and tools to your data across the pipeline lifecycle. Integrated maps further streamline engineering resources, leveraging existing pipeline data sets and providing efficiency gains and additional use cases of legacy standard tools.
Pipeline Toolbox provides calculation tools for corrosion and integrity management. Technical Toolboxes is also an authorized agent of PRCI RSTRENG and AC-Mitigation Toolbox. Together, the HUBPL delivers calculations to determine volume metal loss due to corrosion, mitigation designs, remaining life and reassessment intervals in your pipeline.
Yes. With the GIS integration offered by Technical Toolboxes, the three types of mitigation in the mitigation design portion of PRCI’s AC-Mitigation Toolbox are shown on the map. If all three, or only two, are used for a section, each will be displayed. You have a map of the affected areas and you can select pipe sections in your network for individual analysis. Additionally, areas assessed by PRCI’s RSTRENG+ engine can be shown on the map through dynamic segmentation.
Combining the PRCI AC Mitigation engine with Technical Toolboxes’ workflow automation and geospatial analysis enables you to quickly assess the effect of AC current from overhead power-lines and faulted towers on buried pipelines.
There are more than 10 separately licensed software products that integrate with HUBPL and can be bundled into tiered packages. You can combine any or all of them on one dashboard for all of your pipeline engineering needs. Some of the available choices include Pipeline Toolbox, HDD PowerTool, AC Mitigation PowerTool, PRCI RSTRENG®, PRCI AC Mitigation Toolbox, Geospatial Analysis, and many others.
The HUBPL connects your data to our library of industry tools. You can reduce manual data entry, typos, and time spent data mining by having Pipeline Toolbox pre-populate inputs for you, simplifying the human effort to assess encroachment threats/risks.
Busy operations engineers often answer hundreds, or thousands, of requests for crossings and encroachment each year. Tools such as the Pipeline Toolbox help to remove the friction that delays the process. With it, a case study was done with a prominent North American operator that showed over 70% time savings. This frees your valuable engineering team to seek and develop new and exciting design and operational improvements for your company.
Yes we do! For every product offered by Technical Toolboxes there are training courses conducted by our professional trainers and by other experts from across the industry. See the website training page [Link] for the dates and locations of the next training events for your TT products.
