API Toolbox
PIPELINE ENGINEERING SOFTWARE & INDUSTRY TRAINING THAT SET THE PRODUCTIVITY STANDARD
Overview
Today’s pipeline inspectors must be able to access reliable data quickly through meaningful reports. Spreadsheet systems introduce the risk of human error into pipeline calculations, as data can be inadvertently changed by individual users. Additionally, in-house solutions and legacy systems often suffer from inflexibility and slow response times. It may take them days or even weeks to compile reports regarding design, installation, repair, or audits. API Toolbox (APITB) is a cloud-based software solution that ensures that all of your pipeline data remains accurate and up to date throughout its lifecycle.
Specific API Inspection Challenges
The API Inspection Solution
Data Analysis and reporting are fast and accurate with the API Toolbox (APITB), which combines the API 653, 570, and 510 Modules into one integrated suite of software tools. Inspectors can use it in the field or office to complete comprehensive and accurate reports in a fraction of the time required by legacy methods. The APITB employs a series of electronic data-gathering templates that store, retrieve, and transport the inspection reports and data immediately (including UT data-logging data).
Often, engineers and inspectors are not cognizant of changes in recommended practices, or regulations, in the diverse variables affecting the stress values used in evaluating components. For example, in 1998, the ASME Sect II Part D moved from a 4X safety factor to a 3.5X safety factor. The AST shell calculation now uses a different ratio when evaluating the course above the second course. In tanks that operate at temperatures above 200°F, engineers need to know which stress values to use. The API Toolbox automatically applies all of these factors for you.

The API Toolbox has the most comprehensive reporting resource for the most affordable prices.
The API Toolbox is the most comprehensive tool on the market. The API-653 Module is the only software on the market that has the next step evaluation API-653 APP. B 2.2.5 when the cosine curve R^2 is less than 0.90 (which is about half of the time). Other companies either ignore that qualifying criterion using the cosine curve anyway (outside of code guidelines) or recommend that the settlement be further evaluated by an engineer.
The reporting format is exacting and concise including all the elements that are required by the codes and looked for by the client; therefore, kickbacks are reduced thereby reducing time and money spent on the reports.
Just about every calculation that an inspector/engineer would need to evaluate the mechanical integrity of industrial assets (PV’s, AST’s, & Piping). The Asset Tracking DB is designed for small plants without the excessive data entry required by the more expensive programs used for large refineries and chemical plants. Reports are stored in the electronic equipment files and the inspection dates are updated based on the data output of the reports.
